Tradition
The La Verna pizzeria was established in 1969, in Calizzano, by Giovanni and Laura Durante.
Today the business is run in the same way by their grandson and his family. Over the years, the La Verna pizzeria has increased and diversified the types of pizza considerably compared to those that were originally available, combining the grandparents’ traditional recipes with a touch of personal originality, always using high-quality ingredients, produced locally where possible and otherwise sourcing only the finest Italian products.




The high quality of our raw materials creates the foundation for our work! What characterises our dishes are the ingredients that we select carefully from among the best Italian products (36-month aged Parma ham, Alba truffles, buffalo mozzarella from Campania, fior di latte mozzarella from Paestum, Sicilian ricotta cheese, etc.) and local products from Calizzano (wholemeal flour from Calizzano, meat from Azienda Agricola Canova Maura, etc.).
